Brick and limestone settle into evening along the hillside, a single interior light remaining on as the sky deepens toward violet. The building appears grounded and quiet, its warm glow suggesting activity continuing after daylight fades.
Photographed on the campus of the University of Kansas, the curved brick form anchors the composition against the open sky. Stone, brick, and shadow hold their weight as the fading light shifts the architecture from institutional presence to something more intimate.
As darkness gathers, the building reads less as campus infrastructure and more as a quiet marker within the landscape — defined not by scale, but by the small illumination it contains. The remaining light suggests work continuing inside — reflection extending beyond the visible landscape.
Illuminated explores moments when familiar places are altered by changing light. Photographed at dusk, night, or during transitional hours, the series observes how landmarks, landscapes, and structures shift in atmosphere as illumination transforms perception.
